The beginning and end of last week, I happened to have two titans of tattooing, hanging out and cutting metal at my place. Just coincidence that they both came up the same week.
Such an honor to be around these inspiring guys.

It was good times.

No one actually likes prep, right?
This is one side of a plate for a student tomorrow, finished at 400grit/30micron. So they have an example to do the other side to.
I get cold roll steel plates cut for practice and for students, they require finish prep, as you can see from the first portion of this. Learning to prepare things I feel is so important, and with the stuff I like to do, I play with textures a lot, so I need control of every aspect. You might think to not bother on a practice plate, but it’s all necessary practice. I have a story about not prepping a practice plate, and how it was the first thing noticed and I was called out for it. Being called out by one of my biggest influences, since I sent it to them to critique, made an impact on me.
All that said, on finished pieces, you need to know and understand the finish. When you slip, scratch, scratch r even have to fix a full depth cut. You must know the finish and how to achieve it to match, otherwise what’s the point.
Anyways.
Hope y’all are well and making cool stuff as the world is a dumpster fire.
The homie @ericrose0001 asked me to make a pendant, this is the conclusion.
This is 416 stainless with a lot of little tricks in it. It was quite fun to do. 50mmX10mmX3.5mm, hand cut and shaped from bar stock. All handmade. No lasers. No AI.
Flip through to see the very up close and personal videos of it.
I appreciate you folks who make it to where I can live making things. At this point it’s all I know how to do.
Forever chasing depth, composition, and flow.
Sooo, this project started with me being asked to do the sides of a ring for my buddy @a_e_craven. Unfortunately the photos of the ring I took didn’t come out to my liking (yes, I am human). There is a quick little video of it, scroll through to see. It’s a pretty cool ring and quite the honor to asked to do it for him.
As of this little tattoo plaque. I have one that came from Bob Shaw, and in the beginning of me engraving I was engraving my version of his. They were fun and a lot of practice. I haven’t done one in a few years, but this is my updated version that makes them a little more time friendly.
Hope everyone is well in this insane timeline we reside in.

Here is the good photos, the dramatically lit photos I have enjoy taking.
This is number two for the AKI show in Vegas that I had the honor of being asked to engrave. Before I ever touched these ones, they are intimidatingly nice. Tom is an absolute master of his craft. I wish everyone could experience this stuff, in person and in hand.
I had a lot of fun doing these.
Thank you all for looking. I hope everyone is doing well.
Here is one of the two I am engraving for @trovereynderknives for @artknifeinvitational 2025.
As always, I can’t get over how perfect these are made. And that black lip pearl 🥹 depending on how the light hits it, sometimes it looks like the most incredible skyline.
If you’re attending the show, say hi to Tommy and see his works that I have the honor of adorning.
I’m really hoping this post wont get flagged, but ya never know with these things.
I’m currently on the tail end of being sick with the sickness, energy is still low but I’m still working, just in slow motion.
Thanks for looking, hope everyone is doing well.
I love what I get to do.
Adorning something so well made is quite stressful.
So here is a little bit of the process, sped up of course.

Here is a little preview from of a piece I just finished. An absolutely stunning one made by a master of his craft, @trovereynderknives for @artknifeinvitational . This is one of two that I get to adorn for him and this show this year. Quite the honor.
What I’m showing here is how I manage to use dramatic lighting to showcase my work. The ONLY post processing I do is cropping to 8x10. Zero manipulation of my photos. I’m a firm believer that if you work in any visual art, you need to learn to photograph your own work to represent what you do, the way you want to. I learned to shoot with film, and that forced me to learn, film wasn’t cheap.
Today’s technology there is no excuse for bad photos, even more so with the possibility of post processing. Not saying you need to do what I do, but everyone should be able to take quality photos.

All designs are hand drawn by yours truly.
I don’t have any good footage of the shading on the dogs cause it’s a painfully slow process of dots, lots and lots of dots.
EDIT: to answer the questions about the transfer. @twdesignshone white transfer solution and his sheets. Nothing crazy, no special tricks. Inkjet printer that uses actual pigment.
Here is a BUNCH of sped up clips of the process on the pendant of Bonnie & Klaus. Some footage was an hour plus, some were twenty minutes, but all sped up to one minute.
This was around 50+ gigs of 4K footage. Hope you like me sharing this, cause it’s not a fast process to do this, and id rather be engraving. Hahah. So atleast check them all out.
Do you enjoy seeing the process? Is it worth recording and sharing?
Bonnie & Klaus.
So, I had the honor of doing a piece for my homie @louiskleindesign . I would absolutely be happy to be the dude folks go to for pet portraits. I really enjoy doing them. I like animals so much more than people. Haha. These are a little stylized, because artist freedom should exist when doing things like this. Sometimes you need to exaggerate features, light, or shadow for it to be a dynamic piece. For me, I dont naturally draw realism, If you want it to look just like a picture, use a camera and frame a photo.
I had a lot of fun with this one. Still a couple small steps to finish and protect it. I also still need to make a good bail for it.
Thanks you Louis for the trust.
I’ll be posting some videos of the process tomorrow also.
30mmX50mm Titanium. Relief scrolls, fine shading, selective finishing, bulino with lines and dots.
Now onto the next piece.
