Reaper Box Set

This was a longtime in the making for me, as self projects always get pushed aside for the paying jobs. I wanted to do a common themed set. Let’s start with the outside, the box was built to my specifications by a friend of mine out of some beautiful Oregon black walnut.

The inlayed plate is my version of Death riding a pale horse, inspired by one of the greats, Gustave Doré. .999 fine silver inlay, plating, and multiple other finishing/coloring techniques. Ornate relief scrollwork feature a gothic architecture style border, a theme you’ll see throughout all the pieces. Also, 24k gold beads and inlayed eyes of the Reaper.

Inside the box, the watch. This is a watch I built as an homage to a specific model of a brand I wont name. The watch features a handmade dial with 24k inlayed eyes. The band, case, and bezel have ornate relief scrollwork with the gothic theme and 24k gold beads. I’ll be engraving the case back soon also.

The pendant is a titanium pendant I hand cut to shape. I brought it up to about a 70% mirror polish by hand. It features an engraved crack to look like a broken mirror with a ghostly silhouette of Death. The border is that gothic architecture style in relief, with a finishing treatment to make it a darker grey.

The ring is a stainless steel ring, size 9. The sides feature a matching relief scrollwork and that gothic theme. The top is an hourglass with the sand in 24k gold, bead blasted for texture. This follows this theme as time and death are synonymous with one another.

I hope to do more themed sets, as I really do enjoy all aspects of creating this.
